‘So Fired Up’ was the fifth studio album from Louisiana’s Le Roux (also known as LeRoux), it was also their first to feature the immense vocal talents of ex Trillion frontman Dennis ‘Fergie’ Fredericksen. Uber Rock’s Rob Watkins breaks the shrink-wrap on his Rock Candy Records 2013 remastered CD version of this long out of print A.O.R. masterpiece and finds a record that’s still as vibrant and most importantly “essential” three decades on. Click the link and find out why.

When you get a review from Nev Brooks that simply has the word “STUNNING” written across it in size 70 font you can rest assured he’s not going to be talking anything remotely progressive in musical orientation. In saying that though Electro bands do concept albums too, and here London quartet are kind of heading that way. So why not join our scribe very much on a Downward Spiral, and find out exactly what awaits you in ‘The Bleach Room’.

Miss Lava like playin' and tourin' and makin' rock ‘n' roll and babies, they’ve also played with the likes of Metallica, Slayer and Messhugah, so are they strating to sound like your type of band yet? Nev Brooks cracks open the cellophane on the band’s ‘Red Supergiant’ CD and finds that there is in fact a hell of a lot of sound to like.

Hailing from the Gold Coast of Australia, the five guys who make up De LA Cruz actually sound more like they originate from the west coast of America, circa the late eighties. So is the Überverse really ready for the rebirth of stadium rock or as some of you might like to call it hair metal? Well as Rob Watkins finds out if you miss the glory days of Dokken, Skid Row, Def Leppard and ummm Kick Axe, the only place to be really is ‘Street Level’.

When female fronted London rockers Rhode Island Red released their ‘Kerosene’ EP back in the summer of 2011 they certainly made an instant impression on us here at Uber Rock. A name change later though and now the one time gallus gallus domesticus are Kill For Eden, but as Ian Bell soon finds out, thankfully not a lot else has changed.

For the last decade or so ex-Ax vocalist Max Navarro has been ploughing his furrow as a solo artiste. However back last year following poor sales of his previous album ‘No Belonging After Dark’, Navarro almost retired. A phone call from his longtime friend and producer Nick Mayer saved the day and hence we now have ‘Hard Times’ to enjoy. Rob Watkins is the man in review chair and he’s obviously under no pressure at all as a man’s career possibly lies in the balance.

Yeehaw! When he’s not standing on one leg reviewing his favourite genre of music “prog rock”, Nev Brooks likes nothing more than to put on some leather chaps whilst chewing some bacca and listen to some good ole boys music. Here our very own Rhinestone Cowboy revisits two very different eras of Southern rock legends The Outlaws via these fine Rock Candy reissues. Question is which one will he like best?

Uber Rock's Gaz E checks out her third album, the Dave Stewart-produced 'Heaven In This Hell', and finds a soft rock masterclass that could be your guilty pleasure of the year.....

It might have taken The Virginmarys an age to follow up the promise shown on their 2010 mini-album, 'Cast The First Stone', but, as Uber Rock's Ben Hughes discovered, the wait has most definitely been worth it. Our man checks out the band's Toby Jepson-produced debut long player, 'King Of Conflict', and is convinced that he has heard one of the albums of the year.....

It’s not often we get albums that startle and amaze us quite like this debut from L.A quartet The Burning Of Rome, it’s pretentious, and overblown, but there is also a simple geeky charm within it’s grooves that we can’t get enough of. Here Johnny H explains why you need to be ‘With Us’ – plus you can win one of three copies of the album in our exclusive competition.

Twenty-one years might have passed since the legendary line-up of The Dogs D'Amour - Tyla, Bam, Steve James and Jo Dog - last played together but for many an Uber Rocker it seems like yesterday. Imagine how we all felt when it was announced that the classic line-up would reunite for a series of UK live dates?! If that wasn't cool enough, accompanying the live shows was a new EP featuring four brand new songs! Uber Rock's Dom Daley listened to 'Cyber Recordings 2013' secure in the knowledge that he wasn't gonna be disappointed. He wasn't.....

‘Running From The Dawn’ is the debut opus from London quartet Red Sun Revival and as Rob Watkins is quick to point out, it’s not so much a solar rebirth we are talking about here as a resurrection of all things goth. Wide brimmed hats and quality tunes abound as our man is caught up in an album he thinks we should all dig our fangs into.
