They're back after a four year hiatus.....to save rock and roll? You'd think that the only chance Fall Out Boy have of saving R'n'R is the fact that uber-fave Butch Walker was at the production helm for this, the band's fifth album. Uber Rock's Rob Watkins knows what these songs did in the dark.....but are they any good? Hit that link to find out....

According to the press release that accompanies Gama Bomb’s fourth album, ‘The Terror Tapes’ tears the old speed metal formula a new asshole, and then buys it a pint. Self confessed party thrasher Jim Rowland is always up for a challenge so we asked him to get caught in a mosh and put this extraordinarily brave claim to the test. So have the ‘Kings of Geek’ really pulled a blinder? Click the Read More link to find out.

Sweden’s Memory Garden return with their fifth album ‘Doomain’ and within that title lies the potential to 101 internet related japes. Our man from Norn Iron stays well clear of any nerd territory though and instead concentrates on the metal to hand. So what exactly does technical doom sound like Mark Ashby? Well click the Read More link and you’ll soon find out.

Hot Damn play pop punk, they also hail from Uber Rock’s hometown of Abertillery. So how do we remain unbiased facing such insurmountable odds, when asked to review the band’s latest eight track mini album ‘Sleep Alone’? Well we turn the review pencil over to URHQ’s youngest (yet probably most mature) scribe Lewis B, to cast his all neutral eyes and ears over the matters at hand. Thankfully (for the Uber elders) he finds a lot to get excited about.

UK bruisers Godsized return with 'Time', an album that shouts just one thing out of the speakers: now is the time for Godsized to make some of the promise showed on tours with the likes of Black Label Society and Life Of Agony into a reality, a groove-laden, riff-heavy reality. Uber Rock's Ross Welford has the 'Time', do you have the energy?

Long before the age of the interweb, Dave Prince was looking for the ultimate Blonde On Blonde action to satisfy his lust for female fronted AOR. You see he’d heard of a band from Norway going by that moniker but he could never track down any of their material, that was until YesterRock sprang to the rescue. Click the link to find out the answer to our man’s Vixen meets Heart prayers, ‘Blonde On Blonde by Perfect Crime. Confused? You will be.

Originally released back in 1985, and produced by David Tyson who would later work with Tina Arena and Alannah Myles, ‘The Lines Are Open’ the second and final release by Canadian AOR sensations hardly made registered a minor blip on the wimpwire first time around. However with the help a timely reissue via YesterRock and Dave Prince’s undying love for all things short at the sides and long at the back, is this all about to change?

Snow White's Poison Bite are a horror punk band from Finland who, as Uber Rock's resident horrorhound Gaz E discovered, appear to have been buried with every US pop punk album under the blood red sun. Even former Misfits frontman Michale Graves turns up to help out! Don't be scared though, this is total PG-13......

The most exciting band in Norway? That's what's being said of Honningbarna. Refusing to conform and sing in English, their debut album won the Norwegian equivalent of a Grammy, and its follow-up, 'Verden Er Enkel', is, as Uber Rock's Gaz E discovered, a piece of noisy genius.....

We’ve apparently lost a man here at URHQ, and that man is Mark Ashby our sole correspondent at our Norn Iron office. He’s seemingly drifted off into the ether in a cloud of junkie juice listening to the eighth studio album by Swedish heavyweights the Spiritual Beggars, and now our man’s got a serious case of the ‘Earth Blues’ brothers and sisters. So why not join him for as raw, honest and heavy a record you’ll hear this year?

Suitably impressed by Sweet Taste on the live front at Hard Rock Hell V, we’ve waited a long time for another sweet taste (groan) of the Norn Iron quartet’s rootsy rock n roll. We asked their neighbour Mark Ashby to tread that very fine line of knowing a band you are writing about and review their second EP, ‘Hit The Spot’. Question is though does it do just that?
