Blakshine were formed in 2010 by guitarist Andy Dawson, long time axe slinger of the group Savage who he joined at the age of 15, a band said to have influenced an early Metallica.
A decent opening with title tune, 'Blakshine', 'Man Of Fire' home to a good vocal performance courtesy of Rick Gilliat amidst the guitar drive and groove with a certain Zeppelin/Audioslave kinda influence swaying around the collection.
Clearly a nice little groove but to the all important question as to if this particular group have what it takes to lift themselves above their current musical station is an all together different thing, and my personal view is no, they don't have what it takes: the music is above average for the genre they slide into, but with age obviously not on their sides and the chorus sections not really strong enough to knock down those commercial barriers, unfortunately this isn't gonna rock many people's boats.
