The Xcerts artworkAberdeen/Exeter boys The Xcerts have just dropped their fourth full length album ‘Hold On To Your Heart’.

The past few years have been somewhat of a whirlwind for the trio as they have gone from strength to strength building up a massive fanbase whilst delivering their own brand of contemporary classics. The ten tracks included in this collection are all moving songs written with a vibe very reminiscent of ‘80s era Bruce Springsteen/Tom Petty, something that could come straight out of a ‘Breakfast Club’-style soundtrack.

‘Hold On To Your Heart’ shows that the band have grown and comes with less angst that featured heavily in their previous releases, whilst maintaining all the catchy hooks that you would expect from The Xcerts. Lead single ‘Feels Like Falling In Love’ delivers what could be the catchiest chorus of the year which will have thousands of fans screaming the words back at the stage when played live. It is an album full with expertly written pop songs, not to mention a full on saxophone solo in ‘Drive Me Wild’.

Murray MacLeod’s accent shines through just enough to make no mistake where he comes from in an album more polished than Vin Diesel’s scalp.

2018 is set to be the year The Xcerts become a household name. With extensive tour dates across the country already lined up, they are setting themselves ups for a long career playing their own contemporary version of ‘80s pop-rock.

‘Hold On To Your Heart’ is out now. You can get your copy HERE.
