With a line-up boasting Rhino (ex-Manowar) and Dave Ellefson I was expecting a bit more bollocks to this release than it has. Unfortunately, a quite keyboard-heavy mix seems to diminish what could have been a much heavier set of songs. With the Angels Of Babylon line-up completed by the impressive Dave Fefolt, whose vocal performance is pretty faultless, and the very talented Ethan Brosh, this album has all the ingredients for a power metal feast but, alas, lacks the power.
All the songs on here, such as opener 'Conspiracy Theory' and 'Tear Out My Heart', showcase the musicianship and song writing that you'd expect given the personnel present but the manner in which they are delivered just doesn't quite hit the mark. The guitar isn't quite ripping, the rhythm section doesn't quite rattle your ribcage. Fair play the vocals deliver, make no mistake but one out of three doesn't really do it.
A bit of a shame and not a bad album, it's just that you get the feeling if this got a remix it could be so much better.
