karnivalkorpusWith no picture of the band to go by, just the four tracks on this EP, Karnival Korpus took me a little by surprise.

'Trespassing Thoughts' has a pretty decent riff with some bluesy undertones going on in a full throttle rockin' sort of way - they let the music do the talking and track two follows suit with some more bluesy groove-based rock going on. They cite Free as an influence and this track has that classic Free period going on, not too dissimilar from what the Virginmarys are about with a bit of grunge thrown in as well with the bridge having a nice Hendrix style with the guitar lick carrying the same melody as the vocal line.

All in all 'Midnight Creeper' is a pretty decent effort with the title track having a lazy, laid back feel that the classic '70s  bands used to play and when its delivered well like this, it's pretty decent stuff.
