This is not the first time our paths have crossed as any reader of Kerrang!, Big Cheese and Alternative Press will no doubt recognise the band and their overly power pop/emo look. This band fit somewhere between All Time Low and Forever The Sickest Kids, the latter actually joining We The Kings as support to YOUMEATSIX on their current UK tour.
One of the most impressive achievements on this sophomore release is the clarity and depth of song writing ability on show. This band are totally hitting their stride with songs such as opener 'She Takes Me High', 'Promise The Stars', 'Spin'......hang on, all of the songs are great! Ok, there's nothing new here, but what is here is a collection of heartfelt lyrics with the melodies and music to match. Throw in 'We'll Be A Dream', featuring Disney's Demi Lovato, and the hugely popular single 'Heaven Can Wait' and you can guess how much attention and success this band will be afforded.
People take swipes at this genre but hey, remember when you all listened to Ratt, Poison, Crue etc? Well, these bands are this generation's 'hair metal' & I for one am there with the kids - singing Loud and Proud.
I cannot wait to see this band rip the UK a new one, and give YOUMEATSIX and Forever The Sickest Kids something to worry about!
