The name of The DeRellas has been hanging around URHQ like the smell of teen spirit for over a year now, so with our glowing review of the band's debut album 'Hollywood Monsters' you'd have thought that perhaps more than just one or two of us would be singing their punk 'n' roll praises. We ask is this all about to change with the release of single number two, as Johnny H picks up their crusade to 'Stick It To The Man'?

Proclaiming the year 2012 to be the "end of the world as we know it", are Jaz Coleman, Geordie, Youth and Paul Ferguson about to provide the perfect soundtrack to such an event with their latest album, 'MMXII'? Johnny H steps inside the weird world of Killing Joke to find out, whilst contemplating if everything as we know it today really is about to come to an end in some mayan style ascension?

Reformed UK rockers Stampede are back after a 28 year gap with their second album, 'A Sudden Impulse' and the Archers are ready to rock your world once more. Johnny H turns back the clock to his days spent in 'Hurricane Town' to review the album, but don't called them NWOBHM right.... You have been warned.

It took longer to check if this new album from Beautiful Beast was a serious record than it did to work out which reviewer to gift it to. Ross Welford, both beautiful and beastly, accepted our cock rock present into the belly of his stereo and loved it. Tonight he's gonna party like it's 1989 - do you wanna join him?

Mysterious Australian mofos 180 Proof describe themselves as "dirty fucken loud cunts" - they should feel right at home here. Ben Hughes checks out their brand of "nasty, catchy, sleazy riff & roll" on their new EP and discovers a band well worth introducing yourself to....

Huge stoner riffs, glass shattering bottom end and an ability to write catchy tunes, this all sounds too good to be true for our resident desert rock specialist Johnny H to believe, especially when talking about a band coming from the UK. But damn it if Goat Leaf aren't about to deliver all of this and more as the H Bomb discovers their debut album 'Colorscene'.

Album number two for experimental rockers Vessels and Russ P is certainly one happy chappy at the prospect of taking his new 'Helioscope' out for a spin. As potentially hazardous to your health as staring at the sun yet fresh and vibrant in their song construction Vessels really are a band to look out for in 2011, as Russ explains.

It's official - Uber Rock loves Eureka Machines. The band's debut album was so glorious that its follow-up, 'Champion The Underdog', would have to sound like Reckless Love getting bummed by Nickelback for us not to fall arse over tit for it. Thankfully, we are spared the brown love and instead offer the white flag as we surrender to the charm of this uber-approved sophomore release from a band that you really should love. Dom Daley is the man armed with words as he tries to defend himself against a swarm of high quality tunes......

Five years ago, UK rock eccentrics The Scaramanga Six began work with Cardiacs mainman Tim Smith on a new album, shelved when the famed producer succumbed to ill health. Rather than have a 'lost album' on their discography the band have rerecorded the entire record from scratch and have now released it as 'Cursed'. Gaz E discovers that the album is anything but.....

Eleven albums in and Texan power popmasters Bowling For Soup release 'Fishin' For Woos'. Looking for a fair, unbiased critique we made the fatal error of asking Rob Lane to review this new album. Why? Because Rob L-U-Vs BFS and, y'know what, maybe we all should too?......

Coming out of Croydon faster than a N109 night bus, Bad Exit are a trio of rockers with their hearts set on making an 'Exit'. Russ P is our man in the driver's seat and in control of the 8 track, as he unravels a sound that is part stadium rock and part melancholic, but don't take that as a bad sign, right....

Having just toured the country with the recently reformed Kyuss Lives! this album from German rockers Burden has been given another push here in the UK and Jim Roland is issuing a call to arms for fans of Down, Soundgarden and Neurosis to take note as there's some new kids in town, and they are pretty bloody awesome at what they do.

Year Of The Goat were a new name to us at URHQ, and a simple Googling of their name revealed....not a lot really. That's why we thought we'd give Jim Rowland the task of doing all the legwork on them including some basic Latin lessons. Thankfully all his hard work was worth it as 'Lucem Ferre' really is a bit of a special release as you're all about to find out.
