humancullWhen it comes to grindcore, it's hard to find a musical genre that covers more of the world with regards to band's origins. Singapore, South America and now.... Exeter. Yep, blasting straight out of the arse end of the M5 are Human Cull. And what a wonderfully fetid blast it is. Having existed with a slightly different line-up under the moniker of Gran Toucher for a while, Human Cull emerged from the ashes of that band about a year ago. 'Split Second Extinction' marks their first full release and what a belter it is.

With a sound that's very reminiscent of 'FETO-era' Napalm Death, the eleven songs on 'Split Second Extinction' clock in at a very impressive nine minutes and offer up a grinding, crusty onslaught that will satiate any lover of extreme noise. 'The Mechanics Of Genocide' blasts straight out of the blocks and in no time you're onto penultimate track 'Unwilling Martyrs' before closer 'Resentment' finishes up with a Godflesh cum Black Anvil finale.

The record is relentless grind with the merest hint of power-violence for the most part, but fuck me it does the trick. If you like it extreme then check them out.
