offSit tight, strap yourself in and don't fucking blink or go out of the room after you've pressed play or you're fucked! This record will be over!

Sixteen songs in just about sixteen minutes - in your face, pissed off, angry to the bone punk rock! 'Wiped Out' you fuckin' will be when Off! have finished with you. This record is off the hook, boys and girls, and as intense as it gets...but there is subtlety and passion all over the place: it's like a brick to the face at times and other times it's just like a baseball bat to the knees, but one thing you will notice is that this is a band at the top of the game and once you get into the groove then it's as addictive as a pot of Airfix glue.

Take 'Toxic Box' for example, as it hurtles along like a steam train running down a track with four crazed drivers who care not for brakes, and just before you think things are getting too much it's over.....take a few deep breathes....and we're into the next one. 'Jet Black Girls' sees Keith Morris talk about Derby Crash as the band sound like they're riding a freakin' nuclear bomb. 'King Kong Brigade' is slower and more measured but it's brutal and captivating.

Let's be honest, you have a fair idea of what you're going to get with Off! especially if you got into any of the First Four EPs, but this album sees them elivate the songs to another level and, as far as this music goes, these boys are most certainly the king kong of the scene and Morris once again proves he has the chops to not only lead the pack like he did with Black Flag, then Circle Jerks, but this, his his third time sitting on the throne, which is really some achievement. All the young pretenders need to sit up and take notice because Off! are leading and everything else is following once this record hits the stores. What is it they say? Form is temporary but class is permanent? Well Off! are class - mark my words, sheer class!

'503', 'Zero For Conduct' and 'Borrow A Bomb' are very different beasts but this supergroup have created an identity that will be instantly recognised as being Off! The playing is on the money and tight as two cigarette papers and it's as vibrant as it's brutal, all the way to Keith's cackle on the final refrain and howl of feedback of album closer 'I Need One (I Want One)'.

This record is set to stun and is just what the doctor ordered. If you think music is dying or it's sterile and bland and there aren't enough bands with honesty and integrity and writing great, great albums then Off! will offer you hope. If you want something to kick against the pricks then the anger and brute force captured here is for you.

Featuring Keith Morris (Black Flag, Circle Jerks), Dimitri Coats (Burning Brides), Steven McDonald (Redd Kross) and Mario Rubalcaba (Hot Snakes/Earthless/Rocket From The Crypt) Off! are a force of nature you cannot stop and a band who aren't in the mood to take things easy. They have a job to do and goddamn it they are going to do it, right here right now! Get on board before you miss out - Off! are here to save hardcore punk rock music and fuck what anyone says these boys are the daddies!

Don't expect any prog rock opus with songs lasting nine minutes any day soon, there simply isn't time; music for the right here, right now delivered impeccably. A stonkingly good album.
