Australia is becoming something of a breeding ground for down 'n' dirty rock 'n' roll...played with the right amount of sweat and with riffs the right side of dirty come Weapon Head.

Back in 2007 the band got the opportunity of a lifetime and supported Heaven and Hell and Alice Cooper at the Locobazooka Festival. The band were requested to play at the festival after one of the organizers happened to check their website out and put the offer straight to them. If that doesn't speak volumes about how great this band are... I honestly do not know what does... oh YEAH the GUITAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having gained some international publicity since then the band quickly enlisted Steve James (Sex Pistols, Airbourne, The Angels, Screaming Jets and Shihad to name a few people he has worked with) and holed up and conjured up the CD that is literally blowing my speakers.

Kicking straight in with 'Bullshit Has No Sound', Weapon Head quickly set their game plan and intentions to ROCK! Never a band to slow things down, second track 'Gimme, Gimmie' again rocks like a beast! This band have taken their inspiration from the past but have blended the best bits and come up with something new and refreshingly spine-tingling.

Title Track 'Surgical Smile' is a blend of low down and dirty riffola! My only niggle with Weapon Head is that the vocals can sound over-produced on a couple of songs. With that said, one of the best things about this band is the fact that the song writing is so there and on the ball... some of the middle eights and hooks are mind blowing. All of the tracks on this, their official debut album, are rock of the highest order!
