We all love a split don't we? Well I certainly do and from the great artwork on the cover Bitch Queens kick off side A with the first of their two tracks, 'Bitch Fight'. I've been lamenting about how good this band have been from day one round these parts and the last few singles have been excellent and 'Bitch Fight' is no different, from the dual guitar attack and the stonking driving rhythm to the woo-hoos on the chorus 'Bitch Fight' is another winner. As is their second offering of more unadulterated rock 'n' fuckin' roll in the shape of 'Hot Shot' as it snarls and spits its way through its brief one and a half minutes. If they collated the singles onto one album it would be a match for any of the sleazy glunk bands and I'm not talking about the also rans here I'm on about the Backyard Babies of the world. Don't deny yourself the pleasure of checking out Bitch Queens they sure as hell know how to Rock and Fucking Roll!
Onto the Lombego Surfers and after a decent album their lead track is the garage rock of 'Out Of Here' and a fine slab of stooged up punk rock it is too with the vocals hitting the red and a great tempo - 'tis another fine, fine tune. The only downside is track two being an instrumental but hey three out of four isn't bad. Two more good bands deliver a great split from the fine city of Basle, now head over to Lux Noise before they're all gone or you will miss out on raising the horns and putting your foot on the monitor and using that old hair brush in front of the mirror. Cool record. Cool bands.
