Daylight Robbery come kicking and screaming back with their second album and boy oh boy they may have released the record of their lives! 'Scream Outloud' highlights the ability of the band with an urgency that has clearly been given a helping hand by the mixing by the hands of Sheena Shea (Magnum, Robert Plant, etc).
‘Falling Back To Earth’ just keeps on getting better with each repeated listen with the likes of 'I'll Be Seeing You' and 'Samarah Never Sleeps' all excelling and the keys of the latter send me away to a distant place. I must also mention the vocals of Tony Nicholl on these tracks are some of the best in the business today, add that to the great song writing and British AOR is clearly very safe in the hands of these guys.
'Paradise Is Lost' opens with a rocking riff and keeps the momentum up - and the horns turn up at that! With a riff that easily come from the fingers of Tony Clarkin, you kind of know where the band are coming from, whilst 'Fallen Star' simply keeps the melodic greatness coming. I can honestly not praise the band enough of the high quality AOR on offer here.
Daylight Robbery along with the likes of Serpentine clearly show that British AOR is in a very healthy way. So if you are a fan of quality melodic rock with some of the best musicianship around - this album will easily sit quite happily alongside your Magnum, FM and Hugo collections.
