King King LiveWithout doubt King King are riding the crest of a wave that has seen them become one of the UK's finest blues rock bands and this live album will no doubt go some distance in cementing that accolade.

This live document is that of a band on fire and looking upwards, whilst playing some of the most honest blues licks that has come from the UK. The live album aspect of the deluxe three disc set was record on their home soil at O2 ABC in Glasgow back in May this year. The bonus DVD was filmed at Holmfirth Picturedrome in April. (Unfortunately, we only had the CDs to review)

The live album is something else entirely. Whilst I've liked the band's record output, it does lack the sparkle that is evident at their blistering live shows. Thankfully this release is everything that a casual or die-hard King King fan could ask for.

From the opening notes of 'Lose Control' to the last ringing notes of 'Let Love In', this live album delivers on every level. Lead singer and guitarist Alan Nimmo is on fire, obviously egged on by the audience, the singer even said: "The audience reaction to the live performances is amazing. This release couldn't have been possible without them."

For me one of the stand out tracks is the sublime 'Waking Up' and aforementioned 'Let Love In'.

I think that with the release of this live album the band are easily capable of the next level, in a career that has seen them win countless blues awards.

This album is the perfect way to remember the band from their fantastic live show and you can take it with you everywhere.
