16 Ton Rockers logoI've always thoroughly enjoyed everything I've heard from 16 Ton Rockers, and when I was asked to review the new CD – well, how could I refuse their wonderful brand of punk rock ‘n’ roll?

With a few songs we've previously heard mixed with some new blood and a rather spiffing take on the Cock Sparrer classic 'Running Riot', 16 Ton always sounds like they’re in love with punk rock ‘n’ roll and do their damned best to do it with a smile on their face and a heart full of love for the genre.

They mix up their influences and wear them on their sleeves, crisscrossing from a Pistols kinda riff on 'Idiots On Parade', The Clash on 'The Real N.M.E' to a little early day Guns ‘N Roses vibe. The band keep up the energy on the snarling punk rock of 'Shake Riot And Roll' and the well-crafted 'On The Other Side Midnight'. Spread out over 12 songs (including the cover), it's a solid album from a band who are unwavering in their pursuit of rock ‘n roll. These lifers will keep on writing and playing – and, if they do, I'll keep on playing ‘em.

There are no slow songs: no slushy ballads, just rockers. ‘Limited Edition DeLuxe’ is well worth investigating.

‘Limited Edition DeLuxe’ is out now.
