Slugfest has gathered a reputation as being the greatest free DIY rock, punk and metal festival in the UK and with only a few weeks until its ninth incarnation kicks off there's a few things that both seasoned veterans and newcomers might want to know. Obviously there's the 30+ superb bands to entertain you over the three days but there's plenty more too.

Slugfest Line Up

Firstly we'll have the usual array of dirt cheap, top quality merchandise in the way of T-Shirts, Baseball Shirts and Wristbands. There'll also be an exclusive compilation CD (and it really is exclusive, featuring a number of unreleased tracks from a number of bands appearing over the weekend). We'll also have a raffle, food stalls (catering for carnivores, veggies and vegans), face painting, hopefully the return of Satan's Trampoline, the Plug v Fry challenge (aiming to usurp the Surstromming eating/puking fest of last year) and face painting.

On the Saturday, Saving Vinyl Music will have a stall so you can spend your hard-earned beer money on their vast wares. There's also camping available for the first time (from £6.20 per person) at the excellent Penyfan Caravan Park (http://penyfancaravanpark.co.uk) which has pitches for tents and camper vans and also has a limited number of pods if you want to go posh but cheap. Transport to and from the site to the Dolls House will provided at a very small cost.

Finally, to help ensure we can keep Slugfest free and maximise the amount we can benefit worthy causes with (don't forget we've raised over £16,000 for national and local charities over the years, and as always we will be giving more to good causes again this year) and partly because we get minimal external funding we've decided to throw open an exclusive offer to become part of the Slugfest Family.
