Legendary guitar maker Ed Roman has died.
His death was confirmed by a simple statement on his company website (http://www.edroman.com/).
No information on the cause of death is forthcoming at this time.
Described as "a big personality", Las Vegas-based Roman was regarded as "Mr Guitar", and the list of guitarists for whom he made custom instruments reads like a who's who. His clients - many of whom he also counted as friends - included Ace Frehley and Paul Stanley of Kiss, Dimebag Darrell, Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill of ZZ Top, Buck Dharma and Eric Bloom of Blue Oyster Cult, George Lynch, Lita Ford, Ted Nugent, Zakk Wylde, Jimmy Page, Joe Perry, Lenny Kravitz, Michael Anthony, Phil Collen, Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai.
