Jamie Delerict explains:

"You seriously wouldn't believe the hoops that you're made to jump through if you want to get your video played on one of those music TV channels. So we thought 'balls to that' and once again, made the video that WE wanted to make.

We had so much fun writing the story and then acting it all out in our last video (for 'Never Gonna Stop') that we decided to take 'Burn This City Down' a whole step further. Not only did we enlist a professional actor (Colin Buchanan, one half of BBC 1 detective duo Dalziel and Pascoe) but we also wrote a proper script instead of just having a storyline, and even tried to develop back stories for each of the characters involved. However, if anyone hasn't realised this yet, we FDCs try not to take ourselves too seriously. So as well as this promo being influenced by Scorsese films like Mean Streets and Goodfellas and the classic period of American film noir, we've even thrown some Jerky Boys and Andrew Dice Clay into the mix too. Oh, and an R.Kelly reference!"
