Venom_Fallen_AngelsLucky album 13 from the kings of black metal - Venom, and Darrel Sutton is something he is not very often...he's actually "lost for words". No, his teacher hasn't caught him masturbating underneath the desk; he's simply been blown away by Cronos and crew's latest opus. With his knee length Doc Martens very much out of the closet Sutton's about to lay down his soul to the gods rock 'n' roll. You fancy joining him?

flashbastardGFH86When Rich Jones of The Loyalties pointed Uber Rock in the direction of 'Rock N' Roll Must Be Destroyed', the long lost album from US glam punks Flash Bastard, little we know that we would suddenly be listening to one of the most badass releases of 2011. And if the record wasn't cool enough in itself, then the band's history will certainly make you sit up and take notice; signed to Nikki Sixx's record label and kicked off a Motley Crue/Scorpions tour for threatening to kill Klaus Meine with a pitchfork? This is yet another must-read UR interview exclusive as Ben Hughes catches up with the band's frontman Donal Finn......

recklesslive86Ross Welford headed to Islington on a Saturday night in an attempt to convince the Elders at URHQ that they have got it all wrong about pop rock poseurs Reckless Love. Read on as he falls hook, line and sinker for a haircut, reminding us of those '80s pop fans who worshipped at the majestic song temple of Marilyn. What do you mean "Who?"

Issa_thmbThere aren't many places on Uber Rock where you will find references to Marcie Free, Celine Dion and Avril Lavigne other than in a Dave Prince written feature. Somehow he manages to get all three singers mentioned in this rather wonderful chat with Scandinavian AOR sensation Issa and what's more he bags us some awesome signed copies of her album 'The Storm' to give away to you lucky people.

AC_ThmbThis time last year URHQ was buzzing at the prospect of us not only interviewing the king of L.A. shock rock Mr Lizzy Borden, but also seeing his band perform live at the fourth annual Hard Rock Hell festival here in the UK. Thanks to a series of (hopefully) once in a lifetime events we needed up getting neither - to say we were gutted would be an understatement.  Thankfully Lizzy Borden are back for this year's HRH and John Oakley picked up the phone recently to get the whole story regarding what went down direct from guitarist AC Alexander.

Dwarves_Blag_thmbSunday night in Bristol and the live return of the mighty Dwarves promoting their latest album 'The Dwarves Are Born Again' has sparked something of a mini office outing at URHQ. We came from far and wide to witness the true greatness of Blag Dahlia and his band of rock legends and boy was our loyalty repaid. Gig of the year from the band of the year? Quite fucking possibly.... Read on sluts..

Pulling no punches when talking of the drugs, gang violence, women and alcohol that shaped his life, it will be the haymakers aimed at some of his former band mates that will be of most interest. brian_thmbWith Universal Music having just re-released Diamond Head's classic 'Lightning To The Nations' album in a deluxe 2CD format, it seemed like the ideal time to get uber fan Johnny H an audience with the band's mainstay and these days their sole original member, guitarist Brian Tatler. With over 30 years of music to be discussed in less than 30 minutes one thing was for sure and that was H Bombz had no chance of Living On... Borrowed Time.

lightyourbonfires86approved_small_2011In troubled times the world needs people like Kory Clarke. Outspoken and seemingly not content with a recent Warrior Soul UK tour and the release of his 'Opium Hotel II' solo album, Clarke now offers a download-only electro acoustic album that features new songs, reworkings of classic tunes from his impressive back catalogue and, yes, a whole lot of revolution. Gaz E pulls on his balaclava and takes to the streets....

OpethgigthmbSunday night in London town and the city's wonderful transport system was doing it's very best to deny Jim Rowland of one of the nights two jewels of Swedish progressive rock playing south of the water. A bike, a train, and an automobile later our intrepid scribe finally found himself stage front and centre with mere seconds to spare before one of his fave bands of 2011 took to the stage.  The prog gods had thankfully smiled on their prodigal son, and boy was he in for a treat.
