Having raved about It Bites all new concept album 'Map Of The Past' to anyone who would care to listen here at URHQ, we thought it was about time that Russ P finally caught up with the band themselves to share some of his enthusiasm for their latest opus. A few calls later and It Bites singer/guitarist John Mitchell was only too willing to listen and chat about things old and new regarding the band plus his strange love of joinery. Intrigued? You should be.

Our U.S. uber kitten Kim Thore openly admits she's a sucker for a man in hat, so when she told us to check out hot new(ish) arena filling Stateside act Rains, we just knew frontman Jeff Rains would most probably be sporting a titfer or two in the accompanying press pics. We also would have bet our URHQ mortgage that Kim wouldn't be long about in interviewing Mr Rains as 'Stories' is one hell of a sound debut album that is selling by the truckload across the Atlantic. Guess what we were right on both counts, and here's the evidence.

The Dwarves are a true independent band with no outside management or record label, DIY forever. That is why we to a man at URHQ fucking love them. With the band's new album ready to hit the streets in May 2011 it really was about time Darrel Sutton got to chat with a man he has spent most of his life trying to be...the one and only Blag Dahlia. When Tazz excitedly announced to us recently that she was "interviewing Mikko Von Hertzen", we have to admit to shrugging our shoulders and wondering what in the hell she was actually talking about. As it appears we are not alone in our lack of knowledge regarding the Brothers Von Hertzen, Miss Stander is going to help bring us all up to speed...

When the debut album from Manchester-based noiseniks Obsessive Compulsive turned up at ÜRHQ there were both raised eyebrows and horns - the sound howling out of the speakers blew us away. Their strong independent spirit and zero idiot tolerance is akin to ours. We just had to get the lowdown on the band so we cornered vocalist Kelii and she came out swinging......

You might not see Dead Boys shirts on sale in Hot Topic or slung over the back of the latest fake-titted media whore like the product of their contemporaries, yet the band were as important to the punk genre as spit and safety pins - more so, in fact. In 'Sonic Reducer' they have one of the genuinely great all-time songs and in Cheetah Chrome they have a former member who will always command the respect of any clued-in Über Röcker. Dom Daley, in yet another über-exclusive, asks the questions.....
