"I have absolutely no intention of going back" - Slash nixes VELVET REVOLVER reunion Print E-mail
Tuesday, 15 May 2012 05:32

Scott Weiland's announcement that he was to officially rejoin Velvet Revolver and tour with the band before year's end have been quickly shot down by a curious Slash.

There's no smoke without fire they say, and Weiland's interview with ABC News Radio wasn't short on details.

Scott Weiland:

"They gave me a couple of songs and myself and Dave (guitarist Dave Kushnter) and Duff (bassist Duff McKagan) are gonna be getting together for a song writing session next week. We've all grown a lot. We're able to put egos and differences and old conflicts aside and so that's really cool."

Weiland confirmed plans for the band to tour before the end of 2012, possibly late summer or early fall, once Slash has finished touring in support of his forthcoming solo album, 'Apocolyptic Love', released next week.

Slash, however, appears to have slightly different plans.

"I have absolutely no intention of going back to that," the guitarist said when told of Weiland's comments while being interviewed by 93X.

"He did not?" Slash replied (in a good humoured fashion, it has to be said) when told that Scott had broken the VR news, "he's out of his mind!"

"There's been a common rumour going around, I know that he's been positive on that subject," Slash continued before suggesting that he should maybe call Duff or VR drummer Matt Sorum: "maybe they know something I don't know!"

Slash then confirmed that his 2012 schedule is fully booked with solo dates.

This one is gonna run and run!
