Swedish outfit The Quill have announced the replacement for bassist Robert Triches who left the band last month. They have been rejoined by Roger Nilsson who played on the first four of the band's albums before leaving in 2005.
Nilsson has also performed with the likes of Firebird and Spiritual Beggars.
A message from the band reads: "The Quill is proud to re-introduce the new bass player to the family and throw him back into action right away. Without further ado, we give you - Roger Nilsson! Welcome back brother!"
Nilsson himself commented: "Ten minutes into our first rehearsal in seven years it was obvious to all of us that there's a connection between us musically as well as personally that can't be denied. I had a feeling that the first shows this past weekend would feel a little awkward but instead it felt like the most natural thing in the world. It's great being back and I'm really looking forward to start writing new music again. Bring it on!"
The Quill continue: "After the bass player seat was vacant we sat down and started to think about who the perfect replacement would be, and the first name to pop up was Roger Nilsson! To our great joy he accepted the offer and after two shows we can tell you that this guy is still lethal!"
The Quill will play:
June 2 - Kade Rock Festival - Den Haag, Netherlands
July 21 - Rock Im Wald Festival - Lichtenfels, Germany
